As you may or may not be aware, and I are working on a Mass Effect themed fan-project that centres around the adventures of Pirate Captain Trillian Jones and her unwilling partner, Alliance Major Edward Todd. If you're interested in the general premise for their first outing together, check here: [link]
------------------------------- The above portraits depict all the Alliance characters:
1) Station Commander Maeve Hackett - C.O of Esperanto Station, the focal point of an Alliance funded mission to protect far-flung human colonies. "Tough as old boots" doesn't quite do her formidible personality justice.
2) Lt. Lorna Todd - Major Todd's twin sister. At the time of the events of ME1, Lorna is serving on the SSV Warsaw as a communications officer and, therefore, is able to send her brother choice bits of info on the sly to help his investigations.
3) Major Edward Todd - One of Nebula's two main characters. His bio is here: [link]
4) Sargeant Abri de Beer - Serves under Major Todd. Commonly known as 'the psychotic biotic', Abri is utterly uncompromising in her approach to everything. Whilst standing at only 5ft 3", she is a formidable biotic Adept and packs quite a wallop. Of Boer heritage.
5) Lieutenant Kim Baker - Major Todd's wingman. Kim is a hefty Maori Vanguard. A contemporary of Kaidan Alenko at BAaT, he was utterly disillusioned with the Alliance. However, after a brief but successful career as an action film star, he felt compelled to sign up following the aftermath of the Skyllian Blitz. -----------------------------
All above characters belong to and The Mass Effect universe is the property of EA/Bioware Corp.
First off, Maeve is exactly how I pictured her. Seriously. That's a testament to your characterisation skillz, bro! She's all steely and frighteningly strict-looking! --no wonder Trill more than met her match in that office of hers.
Lorna manages to look pretty and like a tough cookie all at once which is brilliant, and I mean it when I say that I can't wait for her to start becoming involved in some capacity!
Ed is dapper as hell. As always, of course. Handsome bugger that he is. You can tell just by the way you draw him now how much he's developed as a character since you created him! PROUD, MACHO TEARS, BRO. ;-;
Abri's appearance matches that blunt little nature of hers and honestly, I adore her. She's great! And oddly adorable in some way? Her getting all pissed off is just a beautiful mental image for me.
And Kim. Oh, Kim. Why must thou be fictional? Why have you done this, Lu? Why? He's too hawt for his own good, goshdarnit. Trill's interrogation would have gone very differently if it'd been him asking the questions rather than Ed.
Maeve - I'm so glad! I did sort of struggle with drawing her at first since that's a heck of a lot of personality to put on paper. But if you say she looks good, then she looks good.
Lorna - I'm glad you like her! I wanted her to look a bit "jolly hockey sticks" (in fact, I bet she was her school team's hockey captain...) Does she look enough like Ed, though? Obviously, I want them to look related...
Ed - IS HE TOO HANDSOME THOUGH?! ALL MY MEN FOLK SEEM TO BECOME TOO HANDSOME. D:
Abri - She's such a little shit! I love that you love her! I really want to design her ME3 look now...
Kim - WE NEED TRILL GETTING ALL GOO-GOO EYES OVER KIM AT SOME POINT. ED WILL BE FUMING.
Most importantly, thanks so, so much for the lovely comments, bro! It's a pleasure working on this with you.
THERE IS NO SUCH THING AS TOO HANDSOME, BRO. ED'S A STUD.
AND I AGREE. TRILL NEEDS TO FAWN OVER KIM SOMETHING CRAZY. ...come to think of it, if I knew how this situation would come about I'd mighty tempted to draw it.
And it's an absolute pleasure working with you too, bro of mine!
Thank you very much! The Alliance is sort of my area (whereas Jazz's is the Eris, although we do make lots of suggestions to each other), so I'm very glad you like them.
